2019 Neighborhood Leadership Council Meeting Schedule

 

Save the following dates and make plans to attend the 2019 quarterly Neighborhood Leadership Council Meetings.  These meetings provide neighborhood leaders with a great opportunity to network with other leaders and receive important information from the city. The dates for the 2019 Quarterly Meetings are:

  • 1st Quarter – Monday, March 11
  • 2nd Quarter – Monday, May 20

·         3rd Quarter – Monday, September, 23

·         4th Quarter – Monday, December 9 

 

Meeting locations will be announced as the date for the meeting approaches. The meetings are open to neighborhood leaders from each of the City’s officially recognized neighborhood organizations. In most cases this is the neighborhood association chair or president, although any active member is welcomed to attend meetings. Recognized neighborhood organizations are encouraged to designate a primary and an alternate representative to serve as its NLC representative.  Send email to jzarc@concordnc.gov for information.

Fire Stations 7, 8 and 9 have community rooms that are available for use for meetings, birthday parties, neighborhood meetings or many other gatherings.  Reservations are required at least seven days in advance of the event. Use of the community room neighborhood meetings is offered at no charge to Concord’s recognized neighborhood organizations. All fire station community rooms have computer access/wireless internet and projection screens.  Reservations for facilities, picnic shelters and fire station community rooms can be made from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For more information, click here or call 704-920-5600.

 


Concord Police quarterly crime and safety meeting.

Concord Police to host Crime and Safety Briefing at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the fellowship hall of the 1st Baptist Church of Concord, located at 200 Branchview Drive, Concord and on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, they will host a Spanish speaking Crime and Safety Briefing at Barber-Scotia College’s Faith Hall.  Visit concordnc.gov for additional information.

Concord 15th Citizens Public Safety Academy

Learn about the functions of Concord’s public safety departments.

 

Applications are now available for the City of Concord’s Citizen Public Safety Academy. The course will allow citizens to learn about the functions of Concord’s public safety departments, meet staff, and help evaluate services. The ten-week academy will begin January 29. Consecutive classes will be held each Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Classes will be taught by Concord Fire, Concord Police Department, Communications, and Emergency Management.  Applications are due January 22. 2019 Concord-Cabarrus MLK. Holiday Events - January 19-21

 

The Logan Community Association invites community organizations and groups to participate in the 2019 MLK Holiday March which will be held on Monday January 21, 20198.  Line-up begins at 11:00 at Union Street (Near Main Library).  Interested individuals or groups should complete the registration form or contact Betty Stocks, (980) 354-1098 or mlkccnc@gmail.com for more information.  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday is observed on the third Monday of January each year (January 21, 2019) to pay honor to Dr. Martin Luther King and to the Concord-Cabarrus MLK Holiday Event Committee has planned a number of events.
