Sgt. Joshua Shaver
Josh Shaver has been with the Concord Police Department since 2012. He served as a patrol officer in Adam, Baker, and David districts. In January 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Master Police Officer. As an MPO, he served as a School Resource Officer in the Community Outreach and Education unit. He was assigned to Beverly Hills Elementary and West Cabarrus High schools.
Josh served on several committees, including the bid process, commendations, and use of force. Among his responsibilities, he is the Chaplain Program Coordinator, a crisis negotiator, and a bicycle instructor.
In 2021, Josh was awarded the Excellence in Police Service award for his work with the bicycle program, where he created and implemented the 16-hour class that the department uses to certify officers to ride a Police Bicycle. In 2022 Josh was promoted to the rank of Sergeant over Baker District, until moving into the recruitment unit.
