The Concord Legal Department provides legal services to the City Council, City administration, other City employees and several City boards and commissions. The City Attorney and her staff also act as advocates for the City's legal interests before the courts, the General Assembly and quasi-judicial bodies. The Legal Department and the City Attorneys only represent the City of Concord, its officers, agents and employees on matters of public business and interest. They cannot provide legal representation or advice to citizens or private persons on any matter. The City Attorney is appointed by and reports to the City Council.
