The City of Concord is compliant with all Americans with Disabilities Act Amendmants Act (ADAAA) requirements as it relates to Title I and II of the ADAAA.  The City has fair and equitable hiring practices and strives to meet the request of their coworkers by making reasonable accommodations based on the advisement of a medical professional.

The Human Resources Department ensures that the City of Concord is in compliance with Title I of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act as amended). The department’s goal is to provide access to employment for qualified persons with disabilities.

The City of Concord will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in the City’s employment, services, programs, activities, or facilities.

Effective Communication:

The City will make every effort to provide a reasonable accommodation upon request for appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in the City’s employment, programs, services, and activities.

 

Facilities:

The City will make all reasonable modifications to City facilities to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all City programs, services, and activities.   The ADA does not require the City to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs, services or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

The City will not/can not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications.
