Applications for the City of Concord's External Agency Funding are now open. Each year, the city awards funding to non-governmental, or "External Agencies," that contribute to the city's cultural, social, and economic vitality. Requests for funding will be accepted through March 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Organizations interested in applying for funding must do so online uing the Neighborly link on the city's website at concordnc.gov/external-agency.
All recipients and sub-recipients of city funding, in addition to financial reporting, will be required to report agency and/or program outcomes in the form of performance measures. All funding agreements contain a performance component that measures the outcomes of the agency or program funded by the city. All performance measures have been or will be developed in conjunction with city staff upon any funding approval by City Council.
Additionally, a budget hearing for all external agency requests will take place in early April. The brief hearing provides an opportunity for organizations to present their requests, and for the Mayor and City Council Members to ask questions. All presentations from applicants requesting city grant funding must include in their presentation the municipal public purpose they fall into and how the funding requested will either support an existing service or stand alone and fill a void. The hearing will be conducted in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 35 Cabarrus Ave. W. in Concord. The city will email a notice of the hearing once the date and time has been confirmed.
