The City of Concord government offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day.

A additional city services operating on modified schedules due to the holiday:

  • Garbage, recycling, bulky and yard waste collection will operate on a one-day delay for Thursday customers. Thursday customers will be serviced on Friday, July 5. Residents are reminded to place their carts at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on the day of their collection.
  • Rider Transit is closed, and buses will not be in service on Thursday, July 4. Regular service will resume on Friday, July 5.
  • City of Concord Recreation Centers will follow holiday hours and open from 12-6 p.m. on July 4.
  • The David Phillips Activity Center is closed on July 4.
  • ClearWater Arts Center & Studios is closed on July 4.
  • Lake Fisher is open 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. on July 4. This is also a Free Fishing Day in North Carolina where residents and visitors can fish without a fishing license. Boat rental fees at Lake Fisher still apply. More information about Lake Fisher, including the boat rental form, is available on our website at concordnc.gov/LakeFisher.
