The City of Concord Police Department is proud to welcome 23 new officers to the department: Robert Ahlers, Jackie Baucom, Brice Boyd, Sarah Cruz Sanchez, Amoiree Faggart, John Flint, Camryn Gannon, Landon Gardner, Philip Hodge, Matthew Kolcusky, Eric Lansinger, Kiera Love, Philip McGimsey, Matthew McLester, Taylor Michel, Marissa Migliaccio, Connor Morrison, Daisie Roberts, Michele Robinson, Nicholas Schneider, David Vice, and Brandon Willibey. Fifteen officers recently completed their Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET), and eight officers are transferring from other law enforcement agencies. The new class of officers also includes four U.S. Marine Corps veterans, one U.S. Army veteran, two members of the U.S. Army National Guard and one U.S. Air Force reserve member.

During a badge pinning ceremony held at City Hall on Tuesday, January 28, the new police officers took their oath to uphold the law and safeguard the residents and visitors of Concord. The officers were joined by members of their family, along with Concord Police Chief Jimmy Hughes, Mayor Bill Dusch, Council Members Betty Stocks and Jennifer P. Hubbard, City Manager Lloyd Payne, and Assistant City Manager Marcella Beam.

During the ceremony, Chief Hughes thanked the families of the officers for their support as well as the Field Training Officers who work diligently to prepare the new recruits for success.

“Remember, you are here to protect both our community and one another,” said Chief Hughes when addressing the newly sworn officers. “It’s a privilege to be a law enforcement officer in the City of Concord.”

The Concord Police Department is proud to be nationally accredited by CALEA, the gold standard in public safety, and is committed to providing officers with the best possible training, equipment, and working conditions so they can excel, grow and develop in their careers. The City is honored to welcome 23 new officers and support them as they begin their careers in law enforcement and serve the community.
