The fast-growing City of Concord is one of North Carolina’s best cities for small businesses, thanks to its affordability, business-friendly environment, and high quality of life.

According to a new report by B2B Reviews, the City of Concord is the fourth best city in the state for small businesses, receiving high marks for its population size, affordable commercial real estate and high number of employer-owned firms demonstrating a thriving business environment.

The report analyzed and compared data from the 49 most populous cities in the state. Cities were ranked according to five key metrics important to small business operations: the percentage of the state's population, the population increase from 2020 to 2023, the percentage of employer firms, the sales tax rate, and the average cost of commercial real estate.

With a population over 113,000, the City of Concord is the tenth largest city in North Carolina and one of the fastest growing in the country. The city is conveniently located just minutes from Charlotte, N.C. and offers easy access to major highways and convenient commercial and executive air travel out of Concord-Padgett Regional Airport. The city has numerous public parks and greenways, a nationally recognized historic downtown, exceptional schools, a thriving art scene, and is home to some of the state’s largest tourist attractions including Charlotte Motor Speedway and Concord Mills mall.

Concord offers the amenities and opportunities of a large city while maintaining the safety and charm of a small town, making it the ideal choice for families and businesses of all sizes.
