The City of Concord government offices will close for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. Several services will operate on modified schedules due to the holiday. 

Solid Waste Services

There is no garbage, recycling, bulky, or yard waste collection on Thanksgiving Day.  Thursday customers will have a one-day delay due to the holiday, with crews servicing their route on Friday, November 28.

Customers are encouraged to visit concordnc.gov/whatsmyday and download the free CARTology mobile app to have their collection schedule at their fingertips and receive notifications about schedule changes. Customers can also visit concordnc.gov/looseleaves to see when crews will be collecting loose leaves in their neighborhood.

Parks and Recreation

The City’s recreation centers will close on Thursday, November 27. Recreation Centers will follow holiday hours on Friday, November 28 and open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The David Phillips Activity Center, and the ClearWater Arts Center & Studios, including the Ceramics Center, will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. 

Lake Fisher will open regular hours Thanksgiving weekend: Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Rider Transit

Rider Transit will close, and buses will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. Regular service will resume on Friday, November 28.
