CRAFTernoon Take Home Kits

Youth Activities

Families of all ages (3 & up). Let’s see what wacky and creative art projects you and your family can create. Register each week to pick up your kit with instructions and everything you need for a fun filled family afternoon! Pre-registration required.

Couch to 5K

Adult Fitness Classes

The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department is taking the wellness program to the next level with the COUCH to 5K CHALLENGE.  This group training and exercise program does not require any running experience.  It is designed to encourage, motivate and challenge the individual to compete with his/her peers.  There is a $15.00 registration fee. The final goal is to run the Streetlight 5K in July. Registration begins April 1st. You will need to become a part of the Motivate Wellness Concord Page on Facebook. FACE COVERINGS ARE ENCOURAGED BUT ARE MANDATORY IF YOU ARE WITHIN 6 FEET OF ANOTHER PERSON.

  • 10 week program 
  • Session begins on 5/4/21 and concludes with the running of the Streetlight 5K race on July 9th 
  • Group training plan provided
  • No running experience necessary   
  • Wear running shoes and dress to be outside
  • Program led by certified instructor

Motivate Wellness 5K to 10K

Adult Fitness Classes

This 7 week Intermediate Running Program is designed to help and motivate those that have run several 5Ks, finished under 45 minutes and are now interested in training to run longer distances.  The 5K to 10K program will meet at James L. Dorton Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  The cost is $35. The goal of this program is to run the Veterans Salute 10K race on 11/6/2021.  Race registration not included.  

  • 7 week program beginning on 9/14/2021
  • Meets Tuesdays & Thursdays - 6:30 pm and Saturdays - 8 am at TBD
  • Minimum of 25 participants by 9/8
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Optional Race registration not included
  • Required head lamp or flashlight for each night of training when day get shorter
  • Wear running shoes and dress to be outside

Dino Digs Down Under

Youth Activities

Ages 4-6. Come on over for a fun time you’ll dig! We’ll explore different prehistoric friends, play fun games, craft, and dig around to see what we find. Pre-registration is required.

Silly Scientists

Youth Activities

Ages 4-6. Let’s experiment and explore together! We’ll learn about science, conduct our own projects, and create creative conclusions. Pre-registration is required.

Tiny Turtles

Youth Activities

Ages 4-6. Come learn about the ocean and all the creatures that live there. We’ll play fun games, share a story, create a craft, and munch on a fun sea inspired snack! Max. 10. Pre-registration is required.

Growing Gardeners

Youth Activities

Ages 4-6. We’ll get down and dirty in the soil learning how to care for different plants and create our own take home mini gardens. Pre-registration is required.

The Power of Art

Adult & Family Programs

Ages 13 and up. Escape the feeling of being overwhelmed or pressured by today’s world with the POWER OF ART! We will slow down and enjoy our outdoor journey with stress-free art projects. Pre-registration required.

Greenway Adventures

Youth Activities

Ages 3 and up. We’ll explore the greenways and learn about everything we find. Using our creative minds and skills we’ll conduct research activities, play fun games, and meet new friends along the way! Parents are welcome to join in on the fun. Programs are designed for 1 hour.

All ages. Join us for Earth Day celebrations with arts & crafts, activities, and guest organizations who will share knowledge about our community’s natural climate and interesting creatures. Kids, adults and families alike are invited to participate in this eco education series!
