Bingo for Families with Diverse Abilities

Adult & Family Programs

Bingo is for everyone! Join in on the fun with this free program. This Bingo offering is focused on providing families with Diverse Abilities an opportunity to have some fun, and meet other families. We will play classic Bingo, and other variations along the way. Come for the prizes; Stay for the socialization!

Specialized Cooking Classes

Specialized Programs

This program will help provide participants with fundamental cooking skills; such as learning how to safely operate a stove, promoting safety skills while in the kitchen, and the preparation of basic meals. This offering is instructed by Jimmy and Latasha Pross, of Provizions, Inc. where their goal is to assist individuals with all types of disability (Diverse Abilities) to become independent and successful within their own right, within the community.

Classes meet each Friday at the David Phillips Activity Center; Ages 13-17yrs from 11AM - 1PM, Ages 18 & up from 2 - 4PM. Each class is $30 Resident, $35 Non-Resident.

First Step yoga

Adult Fitness Classes

Take the First Step into Yoga. Options are offered to use a chair and/or mat. Other aids such as blocks and straps are also available.

Instructor: Meg Irvin, YogaFit Certified with 15 years teaching experience

Fee: $3 per class

Tai Chi

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a gentle practice that applies principles of balance to transform oneself. In this class you'll learn our Tai Chi form which is a short slow moving set of relaxing postures that improve your balance, calm your mind, and physically realign your body. Daily practice of Tai Chi improves your coordination, deters injury and slows down joint degeneration. In each class we dive into the underlying philosophy and science behind each movement, while keeping the material fresh and relaxing. Come practice with us! See you soon.

Sessions are monthly: $60 Residents / $70 Non-Residents.

Youth Activities

This program is in collaboration with the Concord branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library. Experience a children's book in real life on our greenway as we do activities and crafts while we read! You can also sign up for a library card! No fee.

Rooted Yoga

Adult Fitness Classes

Ages 18 & up. Yoga class focusing on building a healthier, stronger body to maintain your way of life. Class is tailored to the needs and abilities of those present.

ZUMBA

Adult Fitness Classes

All ages depending on the class. A mixture of low and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning, dance fitness party! Sweat to the musical styling of Latin and world grooves during this dynamic fitness experience which combines fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt the body!

Various class dates and locations offered weekly! $3 per class.

QUILTING

Adult & Family Programs

Ages 18 & up. Create a lifetime keepsake. Open to beginner and intermediate quilters. Min. 2; Max. 12.
