The City of Concord Memorial Bench Program offers a unique and meaningful way for residents to honor and remember friends and family.
How does the Program Work?
Residents complete an application detailing who they would like to honor or memorialize. Once approved, the City of Concord will purchase a bench and place a plaque on the back with the requested inscription.
Can I Choose the Location for the Bench?
Applicants may request a specific park or greenway, and the City will work with the applicant on the location based on existing needs. The exact location of the bench within the park or greenway cannot be guaranteed. City of Concord Parks and Recreation staff will determine location, park and/or greenway corridor with applicant.
What is the cost?
The cost of a memorial bench is $1,500. Payments will be accepted via check, cash, or card. Card payments include a processing fee of 2.85% of the total cost. The life of the plaque is intended to correspond to the useful life of the bench. The City of Concord will guarantee a minimum lifespan of seven to ten years for a bench.
